River Monsters Acquire Texarkana Twins to join the Texas Collegiate League and bring college summer baseball to SEGUIN, TEXAS.
SEGUIN, TEXAS will be the home to a new Texas Collegiate League baseball organization for the upcoming 2022 summer season as the River Monsters officially joined the wooden bat league this week.
It has been many years since college summer baseball has been played in Seguin and River Monsters Executive Director and Chairman Mike Gigliotti is thrilled to bring America's pastime back to the growing city of Seguin. The River Monsters will call “Smokey” Joe Williams Field home for 24 games this summer and plan to bring competitive baseball and fun entertainment to the park every night.
Interest from talented college players around the region has already begun as Seguin begins to build their roster and assemble their coaching staff. “We want to compete right away and be a tough team to beat this summer,” says River Monsters GM Scott Barry.
